You know, there’s a big, BIG clue hanging in the air about who’s behind all this villainy…it’s been hanging for months now…and NO ONE has picked up on it.  I’m hesitant to say more because it may give the whole thing away, but something Nocturnus did very early on should have raised at least ONE eyebrow. Is this this week we reveal what that clue is?

Actually, no, but keep your other eyebrow ready to cock at @FAILahad.

Anyway, new week’s up here!  Thanks to everyone for your kind reception at the New York Comic Con–and, remember, Thrillbent is now your twice-a-week stop! A new Insufferable every Wednesday, a new Pax Arena every Friday (bilingual, in English AND French–your choice!), and even more in the next two weeks! Tell your friends, tell the world, help us get the word out! I appreciate it.

The only clue I can think of is where Nocturnus goes into the subway and it says “coming 1997″ which is the same year his wife died. Otherwise the only thing I can think of is when we see him put those ashes under that microscope, but I don’t think anything came of that (as he implies later).

But obviously the real answer is that it was that Miles Davis CD he was listening to and it turns out Miles Davis is secretly alive and a notorious villain.

    Rebirth of the Cool!

I need to go back and reread earlier chapters to see if I can suss this out. But otherwise, I’ve got no guess better than Miles.

I did that – went back after this and, as it seems to have turned out by now, guessed right, but not because the clue was so obvious or my detective fu so good. It was pure guesswork, and the fact it was the only clue-like thing I could find that didn’t point toward Nocturnus. Which I chose not to believe.
