I'm not sure if this is a problem for anyone else, but I use a service called Issuu in order to place my PDF comics on my website. (it's a blogspot site) It seems you can't upload raw PDF's to a blogspot blog (mouthful)
but even thought I have been using the service for over a year now I'm really starting to get annoyed by Issuu.
They have a bar down the side that suggests other reading items, but very few times has it ever suggested anything even remotely related to comics or what I have to offer. I've gone into the code to see if I could disable the sidebar, but I didn't see it. The service is otherwise great, it allows me to use the single frame option, and can be re-sized as I wish. But that sidebar. *raises fist* Some of the stuff that pops up in it can be really off putting.
I've tried everything as far as using very specific key words to try and incite appropriate "related" material, but it never really works.
I mostly don't want to rely on a third party service in order for people to read my book on the site. I'm afraid of what might happen if they one day just up and shut down. Then what do I do?
Does anyone know of an alternate service or method of creating these PDF packages that can be uploaded to a sight?
Or possibly a way of embedding PDF's directly to a blogspot site?
:I'll try to embed an example if possible, tho I'm not sure it will work.:
*sigh* is anybody still coming to this forum? it was such an excellent place for digital comics creators and enthusists to come together and talk shop and bounce ideas.
:C
It IS a pretty slow forum, but I'm fairly certain there are a lot more lurkers than posters. I'm on mobile right now, I'll see if I can take a look at what you're describing when I get home from work. Offhand, If you have access to your page source code, you might look at using the plugin found at http://www.pdfobject.com, but that would seem to require some JavaScript to work.

Offlinedon't know if this apply to your problem, but a friend of mine made this very cool html player:

If you're comfortable with modifying code, I used a variation of this jquery script for the comic I've got linked at sunsetlegendcomic.blogspot.com – I couldn't figure out how to embed it, but maybe you can:
cool.
hm… with these last few i'm definitely trying to figure out how to get all my images in one place, in order, with out taking up a lot of space.
the problem (sort of ) is that i don't do my comic in the raditional web comic sense.
i spend the whole week doing an entire issues worth of frames/panels, then i combine them all into one issue as a pdf, and up load that. I'm trying to figure out how i would use these since they are pulling up individual images, not images from a pdf.
i'll get there.
thanks all.
